About us

The Hellenic Association of Narrative Therapy and Community Practice is a scientific association of individuals trained in the narrative approach to psychotherapy. The association is based in Athens, Greece. Founded in 2019, it continues to bring together people who work with narrative therapy and to organize events promoting narrative therapy to the general public.

The members of the association have been trained in the narrative approach and certified either by the Dulwich Centre, located in Australia, where narrative therapy originated or by other official bodies of the international narrative therapy community. They come from a variety of professional and scientific fields, such as psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, educators, etc. Our members reside in various regions of Greece, while several reside in other countries.

In 2017, a group of young but also of more experienced therapists, following a three-day training course in Thessaloniki, discussed the idea of creating a scientific association. The purpose of this association would be to promote the narrative approach to psychotherapy through a community of therapists who would have the opportunity, among other things, to promote their work to the general public, but also to the wider community of people working in the fields of mental health. After two years, following the establishment of the association and its first elections (October 2019), we got off to a flying start!

You can find more information about our work, our members, and the narrative approach by browsing the pages of our website. Our website provides a complete description of the objectives of our association, an introduction to the Narrative Approach to therapy, biographies and interviews of the association members, as well as the events that have taken place from 2019 to the present day, which we intend to continue in the future. We invite you to browse both our website and our social media accounts (FB, Instagram & YouTube) to find out more about our goals and activities.
